Terms of Service

Last updated: July 11, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of LoanClock (the "Service"), operated by [LoanClock LLC, a Utah limited liability company; update once formed] ("LoanClock," "we," "us"). By using LoanClock, you agree to these Terms.

1. What LoanClock is (and isn't)

LoanClock provides estimates of federal student loan repayment amounts under RAP, the Tiered Standard Repayment Plan, the Standard Repayment Plan, and Income-Based Repayment, based on the balance, income, and household size you enter, using formulas published by the U.S. Department of Education as of the date noted in our sources.

LoanClock is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the U.S. Department of Education, Federal Student Aid, or any loan servicer. LoanClock does not set, collect, or service your loan payments. We are not a financial advisor, tax advisor, or attorney, and nothing in the Service is financial, tax, or legal advice. Your servicer's official calculation is the only number that determines what you actually owe. Always confirm figures at studentaid.gov or with your servicer before making a decision.

The "explain my letter" feature (LoanClock Plus) uses AI language models to summarize text you paste in. AI-generated explanations can be incomplete or wrong. They are provided for convenience only and are never a substitute for reading the actual letter or contacting your servicer.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use LoanClock. The Service is intended for individual U.S. federal student loan borrowers managing their own accounts.

3. Accounts

LoanClock Plus uses passwordless, email-linked access: we email you a unique access link instead of a password. Keep that email secure; anyone with the link can access your saved profile. You're responsible for providing an accurate email address and for all activity under your access link.

4. Subscriptions and billing

  • LoanClock Plus is a recurring subscription billed monthly through Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your card details.
  • You can cancel anytime; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep Plus access until then.
  • Fees are non-refundable except where required by law, at our discretion, or as Stripe's dispute process determines.
  • We may change pricing with at least 30 days' notice to active subscribers by email.

5. Acceptable use

Don't: scrape or automate bulk requests against LoanClock; attempt to circumvent usage limits on the AI letter-explainer; upload content you don't have the right to share; use the Service for anything unlawful; or attempt to reverse-engineer or resell the Service.

6. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. Federal student loan rules were in active flux at the time this Service was built (litigation and rulemaking around RAP and the Tiered Standard Plan were ongoing) and may change without notice. We do our best to keep the calculator current but do not guarantee it reflects the latest rules at the moment you use it.

7. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LOANCLOCK AND ITS OPERATORS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR RELIANCE ON ANY ESTIMATE OR AI-GENERATED EXPLANATION IT PROVIDES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR $50, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms. You may stop using LoanClock and request account deletion at any time. See our Privacy Policy for details.

9. Changes to these Terms

We'll post updates here and, for material changes, notify active Plus subscribers by email at least 15 days before they take effect.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at the email below so we can try to resolve it informally.
